Abstract
The article is focused on the status of the Russian language in contemporary international relations. The way of its studying and expansion throughout the world is shown as well. The accent is done on its wide usage in USA, Europe and Turkey. Besides that, promotion of the Russian language abroad is shown as one of the most mportant directions in the Russian foreign policy.
