Abstract
The article deals with the peculiarities of the translation of the fables of Aesop and Phaedr in Russian and Ukrainian language. The subject of attention was the macrotranslation – search methodology analog-equivalent characteristics of the translated text: type of speech (functional style), the plan of the author, revision a translator. Also studied the pragmatic aspect of translation is to convey to the reader the concepts fables, their didactic purpose through the prism of the values and ideals of the modern society.
