Abstract
The paper deals with the concepts of gender stereotypes and standard appearance. It considers verbalization of people’s appearance gender stereotypes in the texts of English-language prose written in the beginning of the XXI century. It identifies portrait stereotypes of femininity and masculine existing at the present time of society development.
