Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the techniques of semantization lexical meaning of the word in the aspect of the cognitive approach to teaching foreign languages. Developed the following techniques: "the establishment of common and prototype lexical value"; "frame analysis"; "analysis of the metaphorical field tokens".
