Abstract
In this article are presented attempts of revealing of text and discourse senses, their interdependence, contradictoriness, dichotomicness. A meticulous attention is paid to the discourse role in the text comprehension, as well as investigating of functional-pragmatic aims following for “text – discourse”, perspectives of such investigations and possibility of close approaching to understanding of key language problems.
