BARBARISM OF THE PROGRESSIVE FORCES ACCORDING TO TOLSTOY AND DOSTOEVSKY

Muzychuk Anna Andreevna
Saint Petersburg State University

Abstract
Despite the face that we are used to distinguish Dostoevsky and Tolstoy by the nature of contrast, both writers were sharing really close related ideas about the catastrophy of the progressive forces in Europe which led to barbarism of human indifference. That is what makes Tolstoy's "Lucerne" and Dostoevsky's article "Winter notes on Summer Impressions"close to each other.
