Abstract
This article analyzes the use of the numeral "thirteen" with symbolic meanings in modern Russian language. Modern language personality seeks to abandon the negative symbolism of the numeral "thirteen". By using the numeral speaking person demonstrates self-confidence and lack of superstitions. However, in the language of the media, in titles movie and telefilm numeral "thirteen" is a means of drawing attention to the product. It is used almost exclusively in traditional symbolic meaning, more often in the headlines - the most readable and informative text elements.
