KID-ADULTS IN ZAHAR PRILEPIN’S NOVELS (BASED ON THE BOOKS “PATHOLOGIES”, “SANKJA”, “SIN”)

Abstract
The article deals with the category of childishness and characters of kid adults in Z. Prilepin’s novels “Pathologies”, “Sankja” and a collection of stories called “Sin”. Childishness usually has a positive meaning in Z. Prilepin’s books. It symbolizes purity, frankness, openness to the world, human kindness and sincerity, delight in life. It also involves creative ability, rich imagination, which is revealed in strange comparisons, original associations and images.
At the same time childishness may be used showing disapproval as a sign of selfishness, immaturity, helplessness in adults. Childishness can also relate to appearance. It can be reflected in a childish smile or a childish look or some habits of adults. Particular attention is paid to the fact that in the descriptions of kid adults Z. Prilepin often uses diminutive nouns and adjectives more typical for the descriptions of children.
